About Bedfont Lakes
Bedford Lakes Country Park boasts over 180 acres of rolling meadows, making it an ideal spot for wildlife watching. Over 140 species of birds and have been recorded here, as well as frogs, toads, 25 types of butterfly, red foxes, rabbits, bats and voles. A railway track divides the area into north and south and although a footbridge crosses over to the south side this is not open to the public. The park offers visitors the opportunity to fish, bird watch, walk, or simply have a picnic. Regular events take place such as bird walks, fairytale walks and children’s activities. There is a play area for toddlers on the premises too. The park is open from 8am till dusk or 9pm, whichever is sooner.
