Bermondsey Square Antiques Market

Bermondsey Square Antiques Market can trace its origins back to 1855 when it had something of a reputation as the place where thieves could sell their ill-gotten items with impunity. The Royal License which meant that stolen goods bought here didn't have to be returned has long since been revoked, however it is still a place where bargain hunters can do very well.

The weekly market takes place every Friday with stall holders, some of whom have been coming here for over a quarter of a century, start setting up from 04.00am onwards and don't pack up until 13.00. From 05.00am onwards you find antique dealers, bargain hunters and opportunist browsers begin to circle!
