Ottolenghi’s food combines Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Asian flavours, even at breakfast time. Dishes include black rice with coconut and mango, and braised eggs with tomato and smoked labneh.
This independently-run café is attached to Peckham’s South London Gallery. Prices are kept very low and there is plenty of choice for veggies.
If you fancy starting your day with something a little different, Dishoom’s Indian flavours are bound to perk you up. Both their Shoreditch and <a href="http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/restaurants/restaurant-13752.php">Covent Garden</a> branches open for breakfast, serving bacon naan rolls, spicy scrambled eggs, and Bombay omelettes with coriander and chilli.
The Kray twins used to pop in here for a cuppa; in the years since the area has become one of London’s most fashionable districts, attracting extra custom.
