A wonderful Sunday in London

Usually the Sunday is a boring day. At least here in my home town. It is different in London. The Sunday mornings can be used for long walks, and the ocasional cinema visit, but I must say that there is not much to do in London on Sunday morning. On my last visit to London I ended up at the Southbank. It was early in the morning, and I was surprised to see so many people there. Stores were open and there was plenty to do. I must also say that the weather was good, so that must have had something to do with it. I came from the Waterloo Bridge side of London. I walked the Southbank in the direction of the London Eye. It was nice to see the coffeeshops and even a bookmarket. I saw lots of nice books there for a nice price. It is certainly worth a visit. As I walked on the crowds got bigger. Streetartists were all over the place. It was fun to watch them do their act. Some were standing still, some played music, others were dancing and even Jack Sparrow was there.

The London Eye had huge cues and was very busy. It is nice to go round, but it is not cheap.If you decide to go up book in advance. It might save you a lot of money. The London Aquarium is another fun thing to do. It is also very expencive, but you can see and learn a lot about the underwater world. They start with life in the Thames and they show all sorts of fishes from all over the world. If you are lucky you can catch a lecture from one of the staff. I once had that luck and learned a lot about Sharks and Stingrays. These attractions are fun, but expencive. You don't need to spend much money to have fun on the Southbank. You can just walk there and see lots of things and people around you.

Sundays in London are a lot like Sundays in Paris. It is a real family day, when the parents take their children out on a trip. You can see lots of families having fun. But also a lot of tourists from all over the world. The Southbank is a mix of tourist traps (I like the London Eye and Aquarium, but their prices make it a tourist trap for me) to the street artists you see there. It is worth a visit and it gives you a good start of your Sunday. I found it very entertaining and a lovely start of the day. After that you can walk to the Big Ben, or take the Tube to other London destinations. Although the Sunday is not the best day of the week, it is nice and active at places. The Southbank is worth a visit. I hope that, if you decide to visit this part of London, that the weather will be as good for you, as it was for me.
