Graduate Fashion Week Returns to London

Love London

This week sees the return of Graduate Fashion Week to London's Earls Court, the annual showcase of the best of Britain's graduating fashion talent and the next generation of great designers.

Britain undoubtedly has some of the finest art and design colleges in the world and stepping through to doors of GFW the evidence is clear. Oozing innovation and creativity, the final collections and portfolios on display are breathtaking in the variety, techincal ability and beauty. More than 1,000 BA Fashion students from 40 universities across the land are showcasing their work to an international audience of press, buyers, recruiters and the public. The week culminates in Wednesday evening's Gala Show, where a select panel of industry insiders including Daphne Guinness, Suzy Menkes, Christopher Bailey and Fiona Lambert from title sponsor’s George at Asda will judge the prestigious George Gold Award and select one student to win £20,000 towards setting up their label.

Bailey states, "We have the most exceptional design talent coming out of our Colleges here in the UK and I salute their energy, their talent and their well earned and deserved global reputation."

Now in it's 12st year, Graduate Fashion Week has in the past produced some of the UK's most recognisable designers, from Stella McCartney and Giles Deacon to Matthew Williamson, Antonio Berardi and of course Christopher Bailey, who won the very first GFW Designer of the Year Award.

Graduate Fashion Week runs until Wednesdat 13th June at Earls Court Two Exhibition Centre. For more information and opening times visit www.gfw.org.uk
