I'm a big fan of eyelash extensions. Done correctly they can look amazingly natural whilst massively enhancing your eyes and I find them essential for summer, especially festival season. The salons offer a range of options for extensions, always using the highest quality, lightweight lashes available in a selection of length, curve and thickness with no visible bonds to mimic the natural eyelash for an elegant and fuller finish. I chose quite a natural look, but slightly enhancing the length and volume of my natural lashes. I visited the Kensington salon (just round the corner from Olympia station) where the lovely Daria applied my extensions. Lying down with my eyes closed for an hour and a half inevitably resulted in me falling asleep but alas, when I awoke from my slumber the results were amazing - I have had constant compliments and comments about how much bigger my eyes look. he extensions will start to shed with your natural lashes, which is where infills come in. So far my extensions have been in for three weeks, and bar a few minor losses they are still looking great!
The correct aftercare is essential for prolonging the lifespan of your extensions; the glue must be allowed to set for 24-48 hours afterwards which means no steamy showers, face washing or steam room-type action. You have to avoid oily make up removers which will deteriorate the bonds in the glue, and if you use mascara on them it must be water-based for the same reason. If looked after, your luscious lashes can last anything up to 6 weeks, perfect for a summer season of events, festivals and poolside parties!
