CHANEL Couture AW14 Backstage Beauty

Love London

There are few dates in the fashion calendar that are as hotly anticipated as CHANEL's show at Paris Couture Week, and for good reason. Renowned for now just the incredibly beautiful fashion but dramatic staging, groundbreaking set designs and ahead of the trend make up looks, it's undoubtedly always the highlight of my fashion year. I still cling to the dream that one day I may attend a CHANEL show...

This season's make up looks, shown in Paris on Tuesday, certainly didn't disappoint. Flawless matte skin was prepared with the Hydra Beauty range, with a base of Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation, Eclat Lumiere and Correcteur Perfection concealers finished with Poudre Universelle Libre and Les Beiges powder.

The eyes featured Ombre Essentielle in "Ebony" (N°47) and "Sensation" (N°102) - from the new Fall 2014 make up collection, Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadows in "Fantasme" (N°81) and "Vision" (N°89), with bold flicks of Ligne Graphique de Chanel eyeliner in "Noir-Noir" (N°10) and, of course, Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof mascara in "Noir" (N°10).

Cheeks were delicately flushed with Joues Contraste blush in "Caresse" (N°180) – part of the 2014 Christmas Collection arriving later in the year - which also provided the looks for lips in the form of Rouge Allure lipstick in "Volage" (N°227). Always ahead of the curve where nail colours are concerned, Le Vernis in "Atmosphère" (N°629), from the Fall 2014 collection, finished the look. An iridescent, shimmering, pearlescent hue, it's bound to be the latest addition to my (at last count...) 21 other CHANEL polishes...
