Five Gold Rings

Love London

Anyone struggling to buy my Christmas present (and bear in mind it's also my 30th Birthday the week before...) take note. Who could fail to fall head over heels for a new jewel on Christmas morning? From budget to blowout, jewellery is always a good call when it comes to present-buying, and these five beauties are sure to put a smile on anyone's face.

The Zoe & Morgan Love Lassoo Ring (£99, www.zoeandmorgan.com) has been top of my lust list so long I think I might just have to buy it myself; I know I'm going to love it forever. The perfect little trinket for your girl friends, or girlfriends, without being too extravagant.

Exclusive to Liberty, the Anna Sheffield Yellow Bea Laboradorite Ring (£2,800, www.liberty.co.uk) is an absolute stunner. Using an unusual laboradorite gemstone, with white diamond trillion side stones, the 14ct gold showstopper would most certainly make a gorgeously unusual engagement ring, if your Christmas plans are that way inclined. I very much doubt any woman would be able to say no to it.

For an utter classic, Tiffany's 1837 Ring in 18ct yellow gold (£755, www.tiffany.co.uk) cannot be beaten. Who could possibly resist that little blue box? It's a world away from being a Cracker Jack gift. I'll be paying a visit to the New York branch when I'm there next week and picking myself up the sterling silver version (£130).

London jeweller Laura Gravestock makes all her pieces by hand in her London studio. Her gorgeous collections include the delicate Dainty and Written pieces, perfect for layering together, but it's the striking bold designs of the Talon Collection that really make a statement. The 5.5ct glittering gold citrine in the Talon Cocktail Ring is to die for. £669 at www.lauragravestock.com

Finally, for a piece that has real WOW factor, Valentino's Three Finger Gold-Plated Butterfly Ring (£285 at www.netaporter.com) is bound to steal the show this season. Wear with an all-black outfit and it will seriously stand out from the crowd. Dreamy.
