Five Favourite: Summer Beauty Buys

Love London

Don't let this week's drizzle get you down; summer is still here - it's just having a couple of days off. Promise. With holidays to Ibiza and Lisbon still to come, I'm only just starting to get summer-ready. My thoughts this week are turning to a few beauty must-buys to get me through the season; a mix of new tricks and old reliables.

No matter how many shimmering body oils I try, I always end up coming back to my favourite Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or (£34 for 100ml, www.uk.spacenk.com). Nourishing, non-greasy, packed with Vitamin E, fast-absorbing and with a subtle shimmer, it's simply the best for enhancing bronzed limbs at the end of a day in the sun. I love using it on my hair as well, a restorative saviour for sun-frazzled ends.

For luxurious cosmetics to instill a sprinkling of elegant glamour in any make up bag, head to Guerlain; their bronzers are top of my list every year. The Terracotta Joli Teint Natural Healthy Glow Powder Duo (£35.50, www.debenhams.com ) is cleverly composed of two complementary shades; a soft sun-kissed powder, lighter than the legendary Terracotta bronzing powder, is less intense that its predecessor, making skin glow without being too heavy. Then a dose of colour - reviving pink for blondes or apricot for brunettes - provides a fresh pop for the cheeks in a perfectly harmonious shade. Available in four different harmonies to suit all skin tones.

A new launch now, and Rimmel has added to their highly successful collaboration with Kate Moss with the new Nude Collection (£5.49 each, available from www.boots.com), The five shades of Lasting Finish Lipstick, encompassing delicate pinks, subtle apricots, cashmere beiges and rich toffee tones, features a nude to suit every skin tone. I'm currently love #43 - Tan Nude - which will (hopefully) look even better once my tan kicks in...

My Burberry was one of my favourite fragrance launches of last year, so I was thrilled to hear this week the news of the launch of the new My Burberry Eau de Toilette (from £52 for 50ml at www.uk.burberry.com) Created by Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey, working in collaboration with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, My Burberry Eau de Toilette for women is a fresh interpretation of the iconic Eau de Parfum. With top notes of sweet pea and lemon flower, a heart of peony, peach flower and freesia and a base of Damask rose, white moss and musk, it's a fresh and light update on its namesake. Just as with My Burberry Eau de Parfum, customers will be able to personalise their My Burberry Eau de Toilette bottle with up to three initials through a monogramming service available on Burberry.com and selected Burberry and wholesale stores.

Finally, another old faithful of mine, Sisley's [b][i]Self-Tanning Hydrating Facial Skin Care[b][i] (£83.50, 60ml www.sisley-paris.com). It might not be the cheapest on the market, but a little goes an awful long way and it's one of the few products I've discovered that gives a natural looking colour without dehydrating the skin which so many fake tans can. The formula of a lightweight moisturiser, it includes wild pansy and chestnut extracts to promote circulation and maintain water in the epidermis.
