London Dog Blog – Doggy gelato at Pet Pavilion

Dogs in London - The London Dog Blog

The Chelsea store (within the Farmers market) of family-run Pet Pavilion has a new doggy gelateria stand serving iced treats to keep your pooch cool. There are various flavours available including strawberry, apple, banana and honey. And the ingredients are human-grade so you can steal some if you want to!

As there are other Pet Pavilion stores in London – including Notting Hill and Wimbledon – I popped into the small branch in Kensington which is about 10 minutes’ walk from Gloucester Road tube station.

On my way into the store I bumped into a beautiful tiny white Maltese chap who had just been to the grooming parlour there – he looked and smelled fabulous. The stores also offer dog walking services.

The store in Kensington is small but tidy and there are dog (and a few cat) products carefully packed from floor to ceiling.

At the front desk there is a wonderful sweet-shop like display of brightly coloured jars selling bars with flavours such as smoked beef, chicken candy and mint candy. Designer dog sweets! Behind the counter were also some really sparkly and bling collars from Bobby.

Amongst the best sellers are the Hunter products and I found a huge selection of leads and collars in just about every size and colour you can imagine. Next to this is an impressive display of soft toys,

Most leading brands of upmarket dog food (e.g. Burns, James Wellbeloved, Canagan, Lily’s etc) were available as well as a great selection of treat packs. I think there is even “The Dog House” brand created by three Michelin-star chef Michel Roux.

Tucked at the end were dog beds – again, lots of different colours and I was particularly attracted to the lovely flower patterns – although my Alfie would insist on something much more masculine (there were some that would suit him).
