Three of the Best: Summer Hair Heroes

Love London

It may seem from gazing out of the window today that summer is on the wane (seriously, what is this? November?) but if, like me, your holiday is still yet to come (HUZZAH!) you're thoughts will undoubtedly still be on fringed kaftans, neon sandals and summer beauty.

With a chronic lack of time before I head to Ibiza on Friday and a real and pressing need for a haircut, I've found my own little Holy Trinity of hair heroes that have been helping me tame my frazzled locks and see me through the sunny times until I can get it trimmed upon my return.

The new label.m Honey & Oat Mask (120ml, £15.75) follow's hot on the heels of the brand's number one global bestselling Cleanse & Condition duo, an incredibly lightweight yet nourishing treatment to complete the three-step regime for the ultimate in hair hydration. Packed with natural ingredients, including two types of high-grade honey, plum kernel, African myrrh and baobab oil, it holds super high levels of moisture-retaining humectant and delivers maximum moisture for long-lasting results. Used a few times a week in place of my conditioner it's been working a treat. www.labelm.com

A bathroom cupboard essential for taming your mane and reducing excess volume, the Smooth Infusion Smoothing Masque by Aveda (150ml, £25) is a deep conditioning treatment powered by botanicals to soften hair whilst reducing frizz and unwanted volume by half. Win win. A blend of emollient-rich, sustainably sourced Organic Cupuacu and Organic Shea butter help to create a lightweight barrier around each strand of hair to condition and smooth the cuticle, helping hair to retain the necessary moisture, yet continuing to lock out external environmental moisture that can cause undesired reversion and curling. Even in intense humidity, it leaves hair soft, smooth and frizz-free while maintaining natural movement. Smoothed through damp hair, left on for a 2-5 minutes and then rinsed with cool water it's left my hair super soft and silky and seems to definitely be keeping the frizzy split ends at bay. With an ingredients list including Turkish rose, certified organic bergamot, palmarosa and Australian sandalwood, it smells pretty heavenly too. www.aveda.co.uk

Finally, to an old faithful, a cheap and cheerful constant companion that's one of very few products I've come back to, time and time again, since first discovering it as a teenager. I never pack for a holiday without including Boots Sun, Swim & Gym Leave In Conditioner (200ml, £3.59). Designed to protect the hair from salt, chlorine and heat damage, it's designed with a UV filter and is perfect for detangling hair straight after a swim when you want it to dry in the sun; it was my saviour on my trip to the Caribbean last year. You can't beat it! www.boots.com
