There’s a new breed of facial in town for time-poor Londoners courtesy of Leadenhall Market’s Askinology. The newly-opened Facial Bar, the first of its kind, offers an unrivalled menu of 30 minute facials (£45) focusing on common skin complaints, with extra add-ons and boosters for a totally tailored treatment. Using the most advanced cosmeceutical skincare from SkinCeuticals, the six offerings will change the way skins works, producing amazing results with no down-time, meaning you can be back at your desk within the hour. Sounds too good to be true? I tried it out for myself.
The slick setup at the back of Leadenhall Market is the perfect location for a city lunch break or post-work pit-stop. The six treatments include Stop The Clock with high strength antioxidants to leave skin plump and rejuvenated, Plump Up the Volume, a thirst quenching hyaluronic acid treatment to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, Fade Away to brighten and even skin tone affected by age and pigmentation, Be Gentle – a soothing treatment for sensitive skin – and Razor Recovery specifically for men. I went for the OMG Break Out, a deep cleanse and exfoliating treatment to help combat breakouts, particularly effective when combined with a weekly peel and LED light programme.
In addition to the 30 minutes treatments, three 10 minute extras can be included for an additional £10; Eye Eye, an eye massage, Neck’s Best (one of the first places to show signs of ageing!) and Better Out Than In, extractions to get rid of a build up of impurities, a necessary evil for anyone with congested skin. I.e. mine. While you’re there indulge in one of their Collagen Cocktails, made with fruit juices and a shot of Aneva Derma skin-plumping collagen, with names like Hydratini and Singa Pore Skin they’re hard to resist. Post-facial you can even have your make up retouched at their Make Up Bar, using Jane Iredale mineral makeup so as not to clog the skin. They’ve really thought of everything.
For those seeking a little something extra, Askinology also has a clinic offering microdermabrasion, peels, dermaroller, laser hair removal, IPL, anti-ageing injectables and acne scar lasering. It really is a one-stop shop for all your needs.
