Eagle-eyed shoppers might have noticed a new addition to Regent Street in the last 48 hours. Finally, the hoardings have come down and the doors been thrown open to the brand spanking new Michael Kors flagship, the brand's largest in Europe no less.
The king of classically cool American chic, Michael Kors has been making an impact since 1981 with his luxury aesthetic without the bells and whistles - exactly my kind of luxury. The new store - you can hardly miss it - is housed in a landmark building with an elegant, historical façade, juxtaposed with slickly glamorous modern interior, including Macassar wood floors and tables, shelves of brushed stainless steel, Venetian wallpaper, Calcutta marble fixtures and an visually stunning acrylic tile staircase. It's refined luxury, and it works.
Kors himself said of the new store, “London is one of the world’s great fashion cities and an endless source of inspiration for me personally. I’m thrilled to be opening a beautiful new flagship on Regent Street that represents everything we do and offers our customers the full world of Michael Kors.”
Set on three floors, the flagship will house 16,275 square feet of leather goods, watched, jewellery, eyewear, shoes, and ready to wear, as well as a dedicated menswear floor - a first for the UK.
