I have to admit I've been tempted by a little botox for a while...
Alas, that was not the purpose of my recent visit, as I popped in for a spot of tooth whitening. While my smile is by no means as bad or yellow as it could be (or as I've seen before...), a lifetime of coffee has left them looking somewhat less pearly than they could be. Smilepod offers both in-chair and at-home whitening using the Philips Zoom! system - and it could not be simpler.
After a free consultation, a lunchtime appointment (literally 30 minutes) saw moulds being taken of my teeth for my whitening trays. So far so good. A mere week later they were ready to pick up - cue another appointment to check they fit (approximately seven minutes...) and it was all systems go. As the trays are moulded from your own teeth they are the perfect fit. The at-home whitening comes with three syringes of a gentle hydrogen peroxide formula, simply squeeze a tiny, pin-head sized drop onto the inside of each 'tooth' section in the tray, insert and wear for an hour and a half each night. So fast and simple you don't even have to think about it.
Though it's recommended to repeat every day, I've not been as frequent - managing a few times a week thus far - yet already I've seen a difference and have had a couple of comments. The great thing about this treatment is it hasn't bleached my smile (Ross from Friends style...) into a ridiculously reflective LA grin, but gently whitened my teeth to a subtle but noticeably lighter shade. I've had that 'have you done something different?' question, or the classic 'your teeth are looking really good', but no one can quite pinpoint that they've been whitened - just what you want from such a treatment.
