A Little Jack Wills Wishlist...

Love London

Now I'm not sure if you noticed, but Jack Wills, that brand beloved of polo-loving, public school chalet girls has subtly been edging its way to a more grown up look of late. Don't get me wrong, the brand's signature navy and pink stripe is still abundant, but alongside it is an altogether more grown up silhouette, palette and offering.

Fans of Jack Wills' dearly departed big sister brand, Aubin & Wills, a short-lived venture that disappeared a few years ago, will recognise the new design aesthetic; think well-cut tweed jackets, tartan scarves, aran knits, a good does of cashmere and some beautiful leather pieces, in grown up tones of navy, grey and camel and you're on the right track.

I used to love Aubin and was sad to see it go, so imagine my delight upon wondering into a Jack Will recently to be greeted with a veritable smorgasbord of pieces I want for my wardrobe. Top of my wish list - because I truly believe there is no such thing as having too many grey scarves - is the Portington Merino Scarf (£49.50), perfectly sized and undoubtedly will go with everything. I've fallen hard for the Netherton Sheepskin Slippers, not the cheapest at £89.50 but they just look so damn cosy I'm quite sure it will be akin to having hot water bottles on my feet. Last but not least, what may well end up being this year's birthday present to myself, the Witney Leather Bucket Bag. At £179 it's a darn sight cheaper than a Mansur Gavriel but just as chic. Dreamy.

Jack Wills also conducted a rather interesting survey recently into the festive habits of 20-30-somethings, discovering that 56% of us celebrate a Friendsmas with our dearest companions, as well as events with family. Apparently Friendsmas day is the Saturday before Christmas, this year falling on the 17th which coincidentally just so happens to be the day of my birthday party... so if any of my readers fancy indulging in Friendsmas this year and sending a gift, please don't hesitate to get in touch...
