The Britain at War Experience is an ambitious project that attempts to recreate the intensity and atmosphere of Britain during the Blitz of World War II. The attention to detail is awe inspiring with lighting, pyrotechnics and sound used in conjunction with dust and debris to fully absorb visitors.

You are invited to visit the shelters where thousand huddled together as bombs rained down upon their homes and businesses. An underground cinema plays wartime news reels. A BBC radio studio replays speeches from Winston Churchill, Lord Haw Haw and Hitler- illustrating the media battle that paralleled the physical battle abroad. A bomb disposal display has examples of real bombs that fell on London.

A section showing the wartime stars of the silver screen and their contribution to the war effort through propaganda and morale boosting pictures can be seen. Rare documents, gas masks and all manner of artifacts from the period are used to recreate the atmosphere perfectly.
The Britain at War Experience has been created to educate and inform all of the forgotten hardship of living in a country bombarded by a seemingly unstoppable enemy. There are many places to eat nearby and an extensive gift shop gives visitors the opportunity to buy books and mementos of this vivid and breathtaking experience.
