The district of Camden is famous for its markets. The groups of markets are now the fourth most visited attractions in the whole of London. The popularity of the markets bring the traffic to a stop every weekend and it is advisable to try and arrive early before the crush.
The underground station Camden Town is entry-only on the weekends because of the number on people that descend upon Camden. One of the most famous attractions in Camden is the Electric Ballroom- a nightclub venue that becomes an indoor bazaar on the weekends dealing with fashion and jewellery. The major market is at Camden Lock.
First started in 1974 the Camden Lock Market has grown into a truly massive array of stalls and street entertainers- virtually any item can be purchased from twisted bustling corridors of people. Vegetarian food, health food, natural fiber clothing and musical instruments are found in the stalls at the centre of Camden Lock. The main courtyard is cobbled and leads towards Regents Canal. Though the markets are the major draw to Camden it is also the site of the Jewish Museum and many other famous buildings with the opportunity to observe and take part in the Camden way of life.
