My Review

5 out of 10 stars

i had an occassion to stay at the william 1v at the weekend 27/3/10 while the pub is very nice & breakfast was 10/10 could not fault it, although i dont know how i manage to eat it as being so tired, we would have got 3 hours sleep due to a private party going on, the music was so loud the bed was shaking i have never stayed in a place were it was so loud i think it is very unfair to have such a loud music sytem when guest who are not with the pary have paid good money to stay for a nights sleep after an tring day visiting london, so i will not be recomending this to anybody

I visited William IV on the Sunday 28th and enjoyed the experience, The staff was helpful and attentive despite the venue being so busy.

The roast was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

The place looks fab after the refurb.

Keep up the good work W IV!

George Ashall.

My Review

5 out of 10 stars

When I say negative it is purely on how I was left feeling after a Sunday afternoon in the pub on Feb 7th 2010.

There’s a lot of choice for a Sunday lunch around NW10 and NW6 and I’ve been in most of them, but my last visit to the WIV has put me off returning or recommending it to anyone I know.

Two of us arrived, got a couple of pints with a view to a roast and maybe a bottle of wine, loads of tables set up for lunch, couldn’t see any were reserved so found a table with some great chairs and settled in for the afternoon.

30 minutes in the manager (guy with short brown hair white striped shirt and jeans) comes over with a couple of menus and a family of 4 and says sorry, I forgot to put a sign on, but the table is now reserved. I say we have been here a while it’s busy, where do we sit now? He says go and find a comfortable sofa to sit on through there!!!!

Without any help we found the only other table available which was small and right by a door on to the street.

The only reason we stayed was other places would now be full. The beef roast was luke warm the door didn’t help…….. the whole experience cost £80 Never again!

I would suggest that rather than jump to the conclusion that you can make more money from passing trade than people like me, pay a bit more attention to your local customers and you might become as popular as the Paradise / Regent / Chamberlayne or the Mason’s who do!

If not, put your reserved signs on the table when you set up and you can select who you want to eat without offending!

Always welcoming but the real ale can be rather poor and the quality of the tapas not good. Often small children running around who should be controlled by their parents but this is hardly the pubs fault. Despite these negatives it is still worth a visit.

Went to the William IV for a business lunch last week and was very impressed with both the service and the value for money. The tapas is very nice and they have a 3 for 2 offer during the week.
They also have a lovely garden, so I will be back in the summer to check that out!
