My Review

9 out of 10 stars

I agree that this is a decent Pub in a world of complicated offers. Although I have enjoyed a few lunches here...it is only recently that I was invited to a works leaving drinks in the upstairs bar. This is a little gem of a room...like a big sitting room with windows looking out onto Central London. Maybe it was the free bar tab but I thought the Pub hide the value of this room...really nice n comfy.

I visited London in March doing some business on Greys Inn Road I came across the Yorkshire Grey close to the 5:00 hour. I stoped in to have a pint and a bite to eat. I was impressed with the terrific ale (4 on tap) and the burger I ordered was one of the best I've ever eaten. I was in London for 5 nights and I came back all five to the Grey. The patrons were friendly and the staff was exceptional. I'm from Seattle,WA and have never felt as at home and welcome as I did at the Yorkshire Grey.
Thank you for making this Yank a happy man.

My Review

9 out of 10 stars

The City and its environs is indeed a difficult and confusing place for Pubs , Bars and Restaurants. Too many try too hard to be different and chic and following trends like Gastro, Trendy etc etc . The Yorkshire Grey in Holborn or Clerkenwell is a more straightforward premises, offering itself as a Pub and Kitchen. I visited here last Tuesday for lunch which was very good if simple and again in the evening, having been based in Holborn for a day. Service was as efficient as I have witnesssed , Food was as decent as can be expected at under £10 standards, and atmosphere and ambience was as comfortable as I have experienced in a City Pub of late. Smart and simple.
