My Review

8 out of 10 stars

I live in Notting Hill but when I escape into town I regularly end up at Beaujolais for a great lunch, usually Toulouse sausages and Puy lentils with mash. The wine is good and served properly. It's not expensive and Pascal is a great host, from Puys des Domes area in fact. Many customers know each other, so you need to be prepared to be a stranger at first. It's some luvvies some media and some who just like to be away from it all but all very friendly. Very french like the French House pub once was.

My Review

1 out of 10 stars

This decidedly french bar is well, french in attitude. Poor service, an arrogant barman who loves to yell and swear and at his patrons. Avoid it like the plague. In fact didn't the plaque start in France? A group of us wanted a few quiet wines after a lovely dinner at next door restaurant Souk Bizaar. Near closing time at 11pm, rather than a traditional "we're closing soon" comment, he decided yelling and swearing would suffice. Message taken. We left immediately. A horrible end to what started as a great night.

My Review

10 out of 10 stars

Went here on the off chance after it was suggested by a colleague from work.
So glad we did. Very relaxed and frendly food very rustic French but wholesome
and the platters of meat and cheeses very good.
Even the house red went down easily. Will be going back with other friends
at the weekend.
