This pub is named Dirty Dick's after the ironmonger Nathaniel Bentley who used to live in this building. He was so distraught at the death of his bride-to-be that he lived in the same dirty clothes for weeks on end and just left his cats where they were when they died. Today, the pub has been cleared up and the floorboards and beams are exposed. There is a restaurant in the vaulted cellar. The bar also serves food.

When you walk in, you think it’s sort of a typical English pub. We went there in the afternoon, the football was on, so it was quite packed. Everyone’s pretty friendly in there, drink prices are average., The main bar on the ground level is dimly lit, there is a lot of dark stained wood. Upstairs, there’s another bar and there also is a cellar that houses the restaurant.
