Best place to drink in the city, soooo cheap, it'd be cheap for out of London, its crazy cheap for in London and EXTRAODINARILY cheap for the fricking City.

Don't start your night anywhere else, where else can you get mash up and pick up an old boot for £30, and you get a good crowd too, because good people like cheap drinks too, not just pikeys.

And did i mention the curly fries?? Mmm the curly fry bring a tear to my eye.

I even met the girl of my dreams here........ unfortunately it was the bizarre dream where I was going out with a 1 eyed frumpy haermaphrodite rather than the one where I was married to Rihanna and living with her and our 2 goats on a farm in Barbados, but never the less a girl from my dreams she was.

Bottom line - If you don't expect to be getting a trendy West End bar, you shouldn't be too disappointed and if that is only kinda place you like then you're not welcome anyway, you materialistic, conceited, pompous morons.

Glad to say that The Britannia is on it's way back up. Drinks prices have remained extremely competitive and there have been some renovations and a big overhaul due at the beginning of 2009.

I recently hosted a dinner dating evening there and I have to say the food was prepared to a high standard. I was expecting it to be nothing to write home about but my guests and I were very pleasantly surprised.

Since a change in management, The Brit has gone down hill....rapidly!
Food is poor, swimming in water!
Drink (soft drinks) tangy, tasteless and not fizzy!
A year ago, this pub was great....now, i wouldnt recommend to a sewer rat!

Great drinks prices, which is what gets it its rating of 7. Since a change in management (and staff) at the beginning of the year, service and the 'friendly factor' has suffered significantly, but as I said, if you like cheap drinks, this is the place for you. I also noticed that during the day the air conditioning blows a gale, but going there on private hire evenings, it always seems to have packed up, making you need to drink more - very curious, eh?

I occasionally come with my friend on a Friday night. It is casual and laid back. The music is bordering on chessey but that's all you need for a Friday night straight from work. Worth coming if you don't want to make too much effort in the dressing up department.
