I have only read bad reviews about this place but a friend always raves about it so I thought I'd give it a try for some low key birthday celebrations. I called in advanced to reserve an area and was pleasantly surprised this was not a problem. When we arrived we had a lovely and cosy area well suited to the size of the party... the next lovely surprise was that a friendly waiter came over to the table to take orders... this service did slow when the place got busier but picked up as crowds came and went. We ordered pitchers of pimms and tapas.. all very tastey.
On the downside the place was could have been a tad cleaner and toilets are a bit of a let down but by far not the worst in London.
I'd certainly go back. Not only is it conveniently located but staff were attentive and the food was good. Prices were reasonable too..
