About The Cape Bar

Located at the corner of Wood St & Love Lane, Cape promises to bring the
“spirit of South Africa” to the city.

Inspired by Cape Town from which its name derives, Cape is smart, colonial & cosmopolitan, combining modern fixtures & colours with an extensive wine list, contemporary grazing menu and a South African sense of hospitality that comes with complete table service in the evenings.

The interior of Cape offers a further insight into the colonial South African wine bar including soft leather booth seating, relaxing lounge areas and a mixture of light, wood & chrome.

My Review

3 out of 10 stars

Went to Cape for a bite to eat with a couple of friends after work tonight and yet again the wait for the food was excessive and they did not appear to be busy. I had to chase up the food after 35 minutes and 2 of our dishes came out after another 5 minutes or so. The third dish took another chase and 10 further minutes.

The pasta dish was not great, it tasted like it had been re-heated a number of times and the garlic bread was burnt and did not taste of garlic.

We have been to Cape several times and the wait for food can be excessive. On one occasion over an hour. That time the manager refunded us our money.

I can't see that we will be going back in there for food again, but for drinks it is a nice environmnent
