The Stag has old world charm. As a tourist if you're looking for an old English pub, with friendly characters, warm ambience and casual drinking - then come here.
If you're a local, or just moved to the area - have a few beers in here and over a few days you'll have made MANY new friends!

Not many ladies come here - especially younger ladies (it's more of a workers pub), but as a younger lady myself, I was welcomed with open arms and good conversation without ever feeling threatened (on the contrary - i felt safe around most of these guys).

Prices are pretty good, you'll be paying around £2.90 for a pint of beer. No food is served here, you can just get nuts and crisps. Although there is a chinese and thai place next door that serve (and deliver to the pub) pretty good and cheap food (around £5).

Definately go here!
