Dingwalls has long been a Camden institution and one of the area’s main live music venues. Since opening in 1973 the likes of Ian Dury, Eric Clapton, Paul Weller, Coldplay and The White Stripes have all played within its sweaty walls.

Situated on Camden Lock it has faced stiff competition – The Lock Tavern, Barfly, Monarch, and The Underworld to name but a few are minutes away. However there is something about its low ceilings and dark interior that means both punters and top bands continue to flock here.

The usual selection of drinks are available at the bar - be warned though, they don’t accept card payments and it gets very crowded indeed. You may need to fight your way through the masses to get to and from the bar on busy nights.

Ticket prices vary depending on the acts, and can be anything from free entry to around £20 for more high profile bands. Headliners are usually on around 9 – 930 and the venue closes at midnight. When there aren’t gigs on there is also an outside bar, and food is also served.

This intimate venue is showing no signs of waning in popularity, giving its neighbours a run for their money.

I went to Dingwalls a few months ago to see Temper Trap. What a bloody AMAZING night!
The place just oozes cool and it clearly has an incredible history full of famous faces and once in a lifetime events!
The staff were great too, they carry the reputation of Digwalls with pride, and this can be seen in each and every one of them.
I love it there and can’t wait to go again - Thumbs up :)
