Green Dragon

After a bad night I have a lot to say about this place. In summary - I'd advise you not to go here, I found that the service was TERRIBLE. The food was OK. But the ingredients (meat in particular) seems a much poorer quality than what the Green Dragon was serving here 6-12 months ago....

We had such a dissappointing night here. We ate in the bar (there is also a restaurant upstairs).

The staff were miserable and didn't seem to care about customer service. I found the senior staff on the bar quite rude, and the waiting staff were just miserable.

At one point we queried why a meal differed from the menu description, it emerged that the staff had confused two different curries (one lamb and one beef). This led to a member of our party who doesn't eat lamb being given lamb curry and told it was beef. As some of the dishes have peanuts in I really think staff should be more careful.

In fact of the 6 dishes we had the only two were correctly identified by the waiting staff when they were brought out. When my husband asked the waitress if the dish she brought out was his prawn curry, she just said "it could be". We were also told our duck curry was beef!

The deserts were no better. We ordered two cheesecakes and a chocolate brownie. We noticed too late that the barman had not taken the order for the browine, so we were left with two cheesecakes. The cheesecake was coconut and passion fruit. Instead of the advertised biscuit base, it was on a sponge chocolate base. Which didn't work at all. Though the topping was tasty, the chocolate base should have been with a different desert.

It's a shame because some of the problems of the food may have been easier to overlook/resolve if we'd had better service.

The atmosphere in the pub was OK. Though the staff were miserable, the pub itself was nice, even later when the music was turned up.
