This pub has undergone a massive (and very impressive)refurbishment, opening in December 2008 as a modern pub and dining room.
It is no longer an exclusively gay venue, although considering the nature of the area the clientele will invariably contain a gay element.
The emphasis now is on good food and good drinks and quality of service.

I live in the area and a friend and I first had dinner there several weeks ago and I have since returned with another friend. I really liked the atmosphere of the place. On both occasions the service was really good and the food was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone and I certainly plan to return.

The Pembroke (or Coleherne as many still call it) has a good atmosphere and many gays still frequent it so I guess 'mixed' would be a good description.

Went here on Monday night for a meal and drinks with friends after a tough day at work. The place has a lovely atmosphere and the decor is really nice and modern.
I had a feta, beetroot and bean salad which was very good along with a tourain sav blanc which was great!
The staff here were very friendly and served me quickly, and both me and my friends will be returning soon!
