All In London Review
Dance, dance, dance. That's what it's all about.
Concealed behind a simple doorway – recognizable only by the sight of a brightly lit moustache above it – Moustache Bar is the archetypal Dalston basement bar. Head down the stairs and what you’re confronted by can only be described as ‘messy’. People tend to head here late because while the random interior tat, framed pictures and general chintzy demeanor is a blast, The Moustache Bar is all about the music. And in a basement this hot and cramped it helps if you arrive inebriated.
The music policy is a mixed bag. You might turn up expecting an indie night (predominantly to be found on Saturdays) and get a 60’s night. You’ll probably love it all the same. Occasional live bands also play. But the Moustache bar is not for everyone. You should only be heading here if the occasional lukewarm bottle of Peroni doesn’t phase you, you revel in the excitement of saloon doors on the toilets and you can get down to tunes to which you don’t know the words. If this does sound like you then you’ll likely love this basement bar with a knack for hosting big nights. It’s the club version of doing a shot… and you can’t get more Dalston than that.
