This summer a new nightclub will bring all the passion and spirit of Brazil to Battersea. The latest project from Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling’s Inception Group, whose venues are well loved for their innovative and tongue-in-cheek themes, Cocobananas will take guests straight to the heart of a Latin American beach party.

Set over two floors, the nightclub will be a celebration of all things Brazilian, with a décor evoking the vibrant beach shacks found throughout the country. Design features will include vintage surfboards, palm trees, distressed plantation shutters, and a reproduction of Rio’s iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. Guests can unwind in the upstairs caipirinha bar, which will offer the perfect holiday soundtrack and atmosphere.

This summer Brazil-mania will hit Britain’s shores as the World Cup kicks off in June. Cocobanana’s guests will be able to enjoy some of the late night football matches before hitting the dance floor. The venue’s sense of fun and festa will come from nightly live sets, from Resident DJ Ollie Twist, warming up with bossa nova, and then blending Brazilian electronica and Latin house with pure pop and beach party tunes as the tempo rises. Revellers can also enjoy dance routines and performances by a whole host of characters including; capoeira dancers, girls from Ipanema and champagne bossa novas.

Boys clad in surf shorts and havaianas and girls in sarongs and bikinis will serve Brazil’s national drink, cachaça in cocktails featuring exotic fruits such as papaya, guava, star fruit, watermelon, mango and passionfruit and made with a range of different cachaças such as Leblon, Germana, and Velho Barreiro. Signature sharing drinks will include ‘Da Cabana’, served in a vessel modeled on a Brazilian beach shack, and filled with a heady mix of Leblon cachaça, Cherry Marnier, Cointreau, Lime, Passion fruit, Apple and Pomegranate juice, and topped with 7up, and the, ‘Bum Bum’, a lower body of a Brazilian beauty proudly sporting one of the country’s famous string bikinis, and bursting with Passoa, Mount Gay Rum, St Germain, Martini Extra Dry, Lime juice, Apple juice and Cinnamon syrup.

Guests can cool down with fruity caipirinha ice pops or nibble on Brazilian street food and pizzas with bites including authentic Kibe, croquets made with beef or fish, Empadinh, pastry parcles stuffed with Chicken and Spices and Grilled King Prawns with a Cashew, Chilli and Lime Sauce. Latino-inspired pizzas will include The Loco; made with Slow-cooked Buffalo, Bacon, Chicken, Red Pepper and Barbecue Sauce and the Coco made with Chicken, Red Onion and Sweetcorn.

The Inception Group also own and operate Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, the acclaimed Bunga Bunga, an Englishman’s Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke, Mr Fogg’s, a Mayfair bar modeled on the home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg and Disco, an underground boîte inspired by the 1970s Manhattan disco movement. This summer they will launch Beaver Lodge, a cabin bar and dance saloon based on the winter cowboy log cabins found in Wyoming.
