Once a Post Office, the Sylvan Post is now a vibrant part of Forest Hill life. Original 1960?s Post Office features, low lighting and the Antic ‘vintage charm’, the Sylvan Post is a quirky yet traditional pub. An ever changing ale and bottled beer selection, embraces the well known to the obscure so you are never short on something new to try. Why not bring the whole family down (including your dog!) for an evening of lovely grub, fine beverages and some great company.

All In London Review
A charming post office turned pub in the heart of Forest Hill
With the building’s past affecting its present design, you can expect to see old mail slots, clocks and vintage mail ephemera all over the place. A mix of mismatched tables and chairs, counters and stools, booths and benches are spread through the spacious pub so you can generally expect not to have too much trouble finding a place to sit. We visit on Tuesday quiz night and despite being early in the week the place is lively and loud.
Behind the bar it is all craft beer and real ale. The changing kegs and casks keep you guessing but there will always be a selection of the ubiquitous American style IPA’s. There is a kitchen that serves up a typically modern menu of pub classics and American comfort food. Think the likes of pulled pork sandwiches, smoked haddock fishcakes and beef burgers.
Of all the Antic pubs we’ve visited we are yet to see one that hasn’t impressed us – and Sylvan Post isn’t going to be the first. The charming post-room chic of the interior combined with the lively atmosphere, good food and beer makes it a firm Forest Hill favourite.
