Tim Daniel knows a hit record, because for a new artist, Tim has a hit-making pedigree you wouldn’t believe. Aged 22 he was snapped up by Steelworks, the 1990s pop production outfit. Two years later he struck out on his own, forming the True North Music Company with Steelworks’ Eliot Kennedy and Gary Barlow. He has written the hits behind artists such as Toploader, Blue, Simon Webbe and Delta Goodrem.
Britain’s most exciting new singer-songwriter has fashioned a classic debut full of songs of substance, words of essence and tunes that are destined to become hugely familiar to anyone with an ear for melody and an emotional core. Or, as Take That mainman Gary Barlow more succinctly puts it: “an album full of hits obviously written from the heart”.
‘Putting It To Bed’ (out June) was written, produced and mixed by Tim and anyone who’s a fan of the songbooks from the great singer-songwriters will find something to love – as the fans all proved when Tim recently supported Take That on their UK tour. Some even say Tim Daniel is the closest thing to a “British John Mayer”.
“It’s been an action-packed few years, and making this album has been hard work, but I’m really proud of it” he says. You can hear why.
