I took my car to Mr Clutch a while ago. They quoted me £200 and the bill ended up at £450. Their prices vary all over the country for something like a common flywheel grind, even for a replacment clutch there is a £100 difference !. Up north it is much much cheaper - and theres no justification for it but ripping people off
The staff have an attitude problem, especially the portly manager. I mentioned my car had felt strange after they put in a new clutch and that it was slow at pulling away and would rev up highly when changing gear. They got their head mechanic down who test drove it and said I was 'imagining it' can you believe !
I later found myself up north and took the car in to Mr Clutch for it's mileage check on the clutch and asked the guy to check my concerns. The manager there tested my car and said they have not put the 'shoe' on properly and it is definately defective and will fail. He wrote down his findings.
Problem is,the guy at archway is so unapproachable I find going back to them and having it done (sloppiliy again i feel) is something that will explode into an argument.
I would ever suggest you use this firm and that's free advice
