Carpetright

Hire people who know what they are doing once a sale goes through ,they haven't got a clue when to expect a delivery and don't bother to chase up customer enquiries. They make customers feel as once they have your money their job is done.

I had some vinyl flooring fitted yesterday from the store on Purley Way, and everything was very easy to picking the product, to having my downstairs measured to having it fitted. The store was very welcoming, and there was a young man hoovering the shop as i walked in, who when he saw me, he turned the hoover off and came over, apologised for the noise and welcomed me to the shop. He then showed me the vinyl department, left me to choose what i wanted, and arranged for someone to come and measure. I hadn't used carpet right before, but i will be sure to go back and see that young chap who was very helpful with me again.

I ordered a carpet from the store on Purley Way, and everything was very easy from selecting the carpet to having it delivered and fitted. The fitter arrived on time, hoovered the carpet, took away all the rubbish and also helped me put my furniture back in the room. I then received a polite phone call from a lady asking how i found the service and could i make any recommendations so that they can improve their service. Very refreshing to see that they actually care what the customers think!

I ordered a bed in June from a very helpful young man, who was very eager and keen to help me. I was in the store for over an hour, and i was offered a cup of coffee as the salesman said that i should take my time and make sure that i tried out all of the different options to ensure i found the perfect bed for me. I paid for the bed and was told that the delivery would be about 3 weeks. 3 weeks later and as per the salesman's word i received a phone call booking in a delivery for my new bed. It arrived on the agreed time slot and the drivers assembled the bed in my room and took away all of the wrapping. The drivers noticed a mark on the base of the bed and said that someone would be in contact. The manager telephoned me within an hour and apologised for the damage and said that he would organise for a new one to come as quickly as possible. The new base was delivered today in perfect condition and the delivery men took away the old dirty one. Excellent customer service as i was kept in the loop the entire time and i would highly recommend.

Fabulous service. The salesman was very helpful and informative and helped me pick the colour to match my curtains. I received a text message when the carpet came in to book a fitting, which I booked for a Sunday at no extra charge. The fitters (3 of them) moved all of my furniture and fitted the carpet, hoovered and put my furniture back for me. I would highly recommend Carpetright! :-)

Avoid Carpet Right, Purley Way at all costs. They have failed to deliver my goods as promised after 5 weeks. I've had many excuses, lies, false promises, cancelled deliveries, followed by delivery of not 1 but 2 damaged beds in an apalling condition (black, filthy). They have refused to offer a refund and promised to deliver replacement goods urgently (within a week) but then failed to do so. I've had more excuses, been told by delivery company that in fact goods are still not in warehouse, and at any rate are to be delivered to an incorrect address! I've spent alot of time and money on the phone with Carpet Right over the past 5 weeks trying to get what I paid for. They have refused to give me a refund, and say they will ''delivery my goods whenever'' and I just have to accept it! The level of customer service is appalling and disgraceful. They should not be allowed to operate business. They should be shut down by office for fair trading.

I paid cash for a carpet to be collected from the store in Thornton Heath near Croydon, they delivered it to the wrong store after an hour of heated debate where they stated they could not refund me the £42.00 because after a whole days trading they didn't have the cash (yes £42.00!!!!) they decided to cut me the carpet from their sister store next door, which they could have done at the outset.

On getting the carpet home I discovered a bald patch in the carpet and after 4 calls to head office and 3 to the store they still can't refund me as they can't come up with £42.00 !!

This is the first time I have ever used this company and both the store an customer services are inept and not aware of the customers legal rights.

Therefore give Carpetright a miss and go somewhere else, before you to become one of the victims.
