I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company. The door we received was ok. However, the fitting has been a disaster. Door rattling, bowed frame, so uneven and we are still awaiting the top glass fitting weeks after fitting. The whole thing has been a disaster.
I was very pleased with the 5 doors especially the service from the shop as I ordered by phone after visiting the shop. However I paid to have the doors fitted and whilst there was no problem with the fitting the carpenter made no attempt to clear up after fitting each door , left the old doors upstairs made no attempt to take them down and poorly swept up the mess left in the front garden of shavings etc. I feel the carpenter let down the service provided .
Select a door offers a wide selection of quality doors. Joanne was brilliant, very helpful & patient, helped us achieve the design we wanted. Excellent service supplying our doors & arranging a first class fitter who completed the job on time, great value for money, very happy with the end result.
I can thoroughly recommend Select-a-door SE. They gave helpful and friendly advice, arranged a convenient day and time and the fitter made an excellent job of replacing my old front door with a top quality brand new one into a crooked frame! Go here for odd sized doors you can't get anywhere else!
My experience of this family company is excellent. They are patient, helpful and understanding of the customers needs. Previous reviews stated they were more keen on money. This is rubbish they are interested in what the customer wants and needs. B&Q?! Not the same league. First class select a door

A CAUTIONARY TALE - I purchased doors for the front and back of my new property from Select a Door who also supplied fitters for both. The large Victorian style door was a special order so the back door was fitted first. The back door fitter completed the job but failed to tidy up afterwards and I cleared the door wrappings that were strewn over the garden.
The front door was paid for and a fitting date set however I was rung later to say a fitter was not available. As I was about to go into hospital to have a baby and needed the property to be secured as agreed a fitter was sent.
This time the fitter managed to fit the glass panes wrong with one textured side on the inside and the other on the outside - as it remains to this day. The fitter complained that it was not his job when part of the door surround had to be taken off to fit the door and instead of scoring it prised it off cracking the paint and exposing the sunken screw heads.
Move on five years and this Christmas Eve the front door lock knob from the stock lock they supplied sheared off in my hand on my way out of the house leaving me and two young children locked inside the house. Thankfully not in an emergency but we were effectively stuck inside until we could get someone to come over and open the door from the outside. No one answered the Select a Door phone that afternoon and not until after New Year, no emergency ansaphone number supplied.
I have now bought a new Yale lock with 10 year guarantee from B&Q.
I dealt with 2 lovely ladies at Select a door lastweek (mostly Joanne) who helped order me in a awkward size door for my bathroom.
I explained to Joanne I wanted it asap so she rang around & managed to get it in for the next day, my husband collected it & he also commented on how nice the ladies where in person too!
Further to this I then rang them back a day later requesting if someone could hang the door along with 4 other doors for us due to the poor workmanship of 1 carpenter I had found online.. (stay away from myhomehandyman.co.uk) luckily Joanne recommended a chap called WAYNE who luckily was availble 2 days later & fitted all our doors to an absolute perfection! WAYNE has got to be the best door fitter in London / Kent, covers Kent but will do London too. i live in SE6 CATFORD. Thank you so much Joanne & team will use you in the future again !
service in shop ok; however they seem more keen to take your money. As for their carpenter; sloppy is appropriate. Arrived over 1.5 hours late; and seemed in a rush. He carved too much wood away from 4 door frames; and put a piece of cardboard to fill the gap; so the doors would close. Carpenter also brought the wrong handles; and I had to go and collect from the shop (and fit myself); only to find out when back home that I had be given the wrong length of spindle. Turned out to be an expensive mistake.
I purchased a new front and back door from the company and was really happy with the selection compared with the range and quality I had seen elsewhere. The front door was a special size and needed to be ordered so in the meantime the back door was fitted. The back door was fitted satisfactorily however when I went into the garden later all the plastic and wrapping from the door was strewn over my garden.
When the front door was fitted they could not make the original date and this was a problem as I as about to go away and wanted the insurance locks fitted before I left. Select a door found someone to fit the door however the door frame was removed very roughly and when it was put back the screw holes were left exposed, the paintwork cracked where it was not scored prior to removal and one pane of glass was put in the wrong way so the textured side was inside on one panel and outside on the other. It was when I got back that I realised, I didn't want that fitter back frankly, so left it.
Good selection of doors but fitter finishing lets them down.I would use them again but would be very clear about the details of the jobs a like tidying up after themselves, and leaving connected timber no worse than they found it. Alternatively finding a fitter myself.

We purchased a door before Christmas and had scheduled the fitting for Jan. 3rd. No one bothered turning up on the 3rd, so we called and they said they would be around the next day. They installed the door, it looked great but the the lock was broken and the fitter insisted that it was ok, that normally people just lock the bottom lock so it's not big deal that the top lock was broken?! We insisted....
Our sidelight was to be fitted a week later, it's now the 9th of Jan and we still don't have it. I had to call to find out where it is and got a load of excuses about the measurements being lost....fine, we re-did the measurements and I haven't heard a peep about where our sidelight is, 2 weeks on. Grrrr.......
