We were refitting original sash windows throughout our house (8 in total) Someone came over to have a look within a day of calling and a quote was received the next day (This quick turn around time is the reason for the 2 stars).
We ordered one window to assess the quality before proceeding with the rest and I'm thankful we did. The workmanship on the sashes themselves was poor, there was no attention to detail in regards to the style (was meant to look as close to the original sashes in the area as possible) and the finish on them was sloppy.
The wood wasn't sanded down, the primed finish was patchy and the sealant had gone onto the glass in places. It all looked very home made. These issues we felt we could overcome ourselves with some handy work and a quality final finish - Unfortunately once the frames were in we were told that the window wouldn't actually open properly, they may also get stuck, the new cill (softwood) would need sealing in because the water could get underneath it and it was also clear that we'd need to repair our original Edwardian boxes because they'd been so clumsy with the fit.
Called to politely explain the situation and come to a suitable solution and was told that there's nothing they could do about it and that losing the business on the rest of our windows was 'fine'.
You really should avoid!

Can't comment on the quality of their workmanship but I made an appointment for these guys to come for an emergency job - he promised to call before he turned up - I never heard a thing from them again even when I tried calling back, they didn't even respond. Really disappointed. Obviously two panes of glass weren't worth their time!
