Ashley Palmer-Watts has been the long-standing Executive Head Chef for the Fat Duck group since first joining them in 1999, and now is the man that heads up the team at Heston Blumenthal's latest venture.



His creative eye for detail coupled with a great enthusiasm for research and British ingredients have enabled him to create the unique menu of historically inspired British dishes together with Heston Blumenthal, for the new restaurant. He continues to oversee development at The Fat Duck, The Hinds Head and The Crown Pub in Bray.



The interiors of the restaurant provide a contemporary backdrop whilst still observing a respect for appropriate traditions. The dining room features floor-to-ceiling glass walls, giving diners a view of the kitchen and its unique pulley system which is modelled after a version used by the royal court!

Gardners is something out of the last century - in the best way possible! It has been in Paul's family since 1870 and is a treasure trove of reasonably priced bags/ribbons/stickers etc everything you could need and Paul runs it with an old fashioned sense of service serving everyone individually and with care. He remembers what you last bought and often has a local story to tell. I can't recommend it highly enough though the opening hours are just on weekdays 6.30am (!!) to 2pm. Enjoy!
