From our initial telephone call to the delivery of what we ordered, we received great service and we are delighted with everything. The advice we were given proved spot on and we are looking forward to Christmas with a roaring log fire in a very high quality fire basket with well crafted and elegant tools. Thank you Chesney's.

Great product and very happy with the end result but from a customer service perspective Chesneys are terrible. If you buy from them be prepared to follow up on everything as Chesneys sure do not deliver this for you. They have your money so be prepared to wait. They dont call, dont follow up, dont check that you are happy after the product has been installed. In effect they dont do anything. I would still be waiting if I didnt make the effort to call them continuously.

Thank you for your comments which we take very seriously and have an impact on the way in which we run our business. We have recently reviewed our processes & systems and instigated a root & branch change in the way our company operates. This summer after extensive infrastructure investment, staff recruitment and training we launched a fully managed installation service rather than leaving our clients with the inconvenience of dealing with external subcontractors. To date this new service has been extremely well received and hopefully its introduction will ensure that we can consistently offer an after sales service that meets our customer’s expectations.

I am amazed at the previous reviews as we had completely the opposite experience. Chesney's were so helpful, really knowledgeable, and even when we changed our mind and cancelled a mantelpiece, deciding for a plainer look, there was no problem, just understanding. They did everything exactly on time, when they said they would, and we just found everything about the experience good. And now we are thoroughly enjoying our lovely stove.

I can only reinforce previous reviews and suggest that you look elsewhere. The company don't seem to have improved their customer service since the 2010 reviews much.
Still for delivery waiting 7 months after an order was placed, nothing but a litany of excuses from Chesneys. Terrible customer service.

I can only agree with the previous reviews. Be careful when you deal with Chesney's, promises but no delivery. Even if you are able to nail them down to a date then make sure you get it in writing, and preferably something legally binding. Also, if you want a particular product then make sure they have it. I have ordered and part paid for a stove that didn't exist until October, I ordered it in July! It was supposed to be delivered to Scotland and it's been delivered to somewhere south of London. I won't recommend them to any of my contacts.

I have to agree emphatically with the above reviewer. Beautiful fireplaces but the worst customer service I have received in a long time and for very expensive products, you'd expect a decent quality of service. Once they have the money they don't want to hear from you and won't respond to emails. They subcontract everything else out to installers/liners/sweeps (who they will probably get money back from for referrals), and won't help co-ordination efforts AT ALL. We were promised on ordering that the fireplace could be fitted within two weeks, it is now likely to be closer to 2 months - appalling!! Which of course impacts on the rest of the projects (floors installation and decorating) pushing it all back by over three months. REALLY, REALLY poor Chesney's, I won't be using them again or recommending them to any of my clients or colleagues.

Chesney's may sell beautiful fireplaces but they did not aid in any of the process to get it installed - be aware, listen carefully and don't assume they will manage any of it. The salesmen implies that the fireplace installation will be managed by them (once the chimney is certified) but all they do is sub-contract and then wash their hands of the process. We dealt with 4 different companies - chimney sweep, fireplace lining firm, installer and the gas fitter - none directly employed by Chesney's or who Chesney's will resolve issues with. They politely (and they are polite) take your call/email and then don't respond - unless you've managed to resolve it yourself!!!
The only part they do is supply the fireplace and in our case even one (of 2) given to the installer was the wrong one!!! More disppointingly they didn't even have the courtesy to call to apologise or advise when the correct one would be available. The sub-contractor had to deliver the news.
Hugely disppointed by the whole experience.
