DFS (Brent Cross) delivery service is poor, especially for a major chain. Their customer service will call and inform you that the delivery van is "outside your house right now". Most other delivery services (Dreams, Comet, John Lewis and even a high street furniture store I ordered from) call an hour or a few hours or maybe a day beforehand to advise that the delivery will be coming sometime within the next 3 hours (for example) or in the afternoon (for example); DFS does nothing of the sort, and it is not farfetched to believe that the DFS customer service does not coordinate with their delivery teams at all.

The reason I think this is because after telling me the van had arrived the customer service lady asked me when I could get back home (I was out nearby for breakfast) and I said in 30 minutes, and she said ok. I got back within 20 minutes, but the van was gone. I called them up and the same lady told me the van had other trips to make so they could not wait. She did not know when the van would be back. Alright
why say ok when she did not check and could not speak on behalf of the delivery crew (she could have said "I'm not sure if they will wait for you" or something). Indeed, why ask me in the first place, because in hindsight I think she just wanted to make sure I would be home to wait for the van to come back after finishing other deliveries, which was 2 hours later.

All in all a very frustrating experience.
