On the plus side, the food is fresh and all the ingredients are supposedly home made. I did a trial shift there a while back and I was really impressed with the variety and quality of food. The salads are amazing and the hot food items are inventive and look yummy. They don't skimp on portions either so that sort of makes up for the steep prices. They pride themselves on their coffee and I was given quite a long speech about it when I got there but to be honest it really doesn't seem all that special apart from the actual coffee beans they use which are top notch.

Their biggest downfall is the way they treat customers, which unfortunately is somewhat like cattle. The woman in charge is very rude and as I've seen on other reviews "she acts like she's doing you a favour." You are discouraged from sitting and loitering over a meal and I was told several times to hurry customers along to liberate seats as "the quicker they're out, the more money we make". This is an awful attitude to have considering the location of the cafe, there are dozens and perhaps even hundreds of alternative places to eat just around the corner and good service keeps people coming back. On that level Thanks for Franks fare very poorly.

With all things considered I'd advice ordering your food to take away.

Simply one of the worse dining experiences I have had in London. Your drawn in by the number of Timeout awards but careful as these are all from 2003 (and I see why).

The food was horribly over priced and to make this worse our party of 3 were told we could not sit on the tables as it meant the owner could not pack another table of people into the small patio area.

So halfway through our meal we were ask if one of the party could leave! Incredible.

I understand the owner was thinking about his immediate profits and trying to fit in one more table of 2 but the place was not even busy and most people were taking their food away with them.

The owner needs to think twice on what's more important - immediate profit or a comfortable unrushed dining experience for those who have already spent money at this cafe (and thus maybe repeat custom).

I would recommend to stay far away from this place as possible and enjoy the company of friends elsewhere.

We went to this little place local to our workplace looking for a regular lunch spot and can only say that what we found was overpriced, mediocre food served by a rude man too eager to be rid of you. Please avoid Franks and instead try any number of the other options available in the area - we certainly will!
