I've just come from this cafe which I headed to as I needed somewhere quiet and warm to work in between appointments and it looked cosy. The first girl that served me was very sweet and got me a latte. Unfortunatley it wasn't drinkable- the coffee was weak and tasted burnt- but I wanted to stay as it seemed relaxed and a local business (which I am keen to support.) The service then took a severe turn for the worse when another staff member- possibly the owner?- was extremely rude to me about plugging in my laptop. When I tried to explain this would mean I had to leave and would not be able to have lunch there- or come again- she repeatedly shouted 'I don't care!' at me across the coffee shop. Unpleasant for me and other guests.
I am keen to support local ventures, especially in a recession, but if you service with a smile and people interested in repeat business DONT come here!
The Coffee Cup Cafe specialises in sandwiches with an extensive choice of fillings as well as refreshments. They also provide a takeaway service.
