Island Cafe

The chicken escalope panini with cheese & eggs is heart-stopping instant-coronary stop-a-stampeding-rhinoceros-at-10-paces GLORIOUS WICKED DELICIOUS!!!!

I arrived a couple of days ago early morning around 7:30am. There was just the one fella serving people,taking orders, cooking,and doing the tea's! The queue was something else! I ordered a tea and scrambled eggs on toast and by the time it arrived about 30 mins later i was almost ready to walk out! The place looks clean but to be honest just the average fare is served like any other greasy spoon!

~this is a hidden treasure in the back streets of London... wonderful friendly service bright decor and with seating outside. A welcome change from the uniform cafe chains with their chrome interiors, fancy overpriced coffee/sandwiches - this is a real London cafe at its best... friendly and well-priced with an interesting outlook should you wish to sit and watch the world go by.

For an early morning coffee in a warm, welcoming environment, I have not found The Island Cafe's match.
I discovered The Island when I arrived half an hour early for a job interview in the area, and was delighted with the ambience and the friendliness of the staff. I found the free WIFI to be fast and reliable and in addition to the decent coffee, early opening hour and friendly staff, I would certainly recommend this Cafe as a great place to start your day reading your mail over a cappuccino.

Needless to say, I have been back and was not disappointed!
