I am a local and has visited the cafe in the past. It had been some time like a year and I decided to have breakfast with a good friend at the cafe. Well the service was awful not only could they not make eggs Benedict’s but in took them 25 mins to replace it with a simple toast and two sausages. I had to go up to the counter to ask where my replacement was in order to receive it. I had to ask for my own cutlery as well. I had to ask for milk for my tea. On top of it when I went to pay they still wanted to charge me of eggs Benedict’s that I never ate, the cook came up to me in an aggressive manner stating that I should pay for. They did however manage to take it off the bill and charge me for the correct breakfast that I actually ate, but that came after the initial aggressive manner that I received.

What happened to consumer rights, customer coming first? This place is simply a poor run place with foreigners that do not know English hospitality, they let the local residents down, me being one and they let London down. The only thing that is nice is the decor.
Apart from that all the staff should be sacked!!!
I would not recommend it unless you are getting a take away with a simple coffee and toast. It’s an unpleasant experience that I wish not to ever encounter again and hope no one will too.

Often use this gem of a cafe when visiting the British Museum. It has welcoming staff, unhurried but efficient service and a comprehensive range of good value lunchtime/teatime food. Look forward to returning.
