My Review

3 out of 10 stars

I've been to this Starbucks a few times now.

First thing I wanted was the loo. This time it was worse than usual -- water all over the floor (dangerous, surely?), no paper, no paper towels, drier not working, urine everywhere.

To be fair, I wasn't ignored when I complained this time, perhaps because the guy who'd used it before me was in mid complaint when I got there. They went in with a mop. I bet they're not checking it hourly though (I believe they're supposed to).

Was served OK at the counter, that's never been a problem.

The best seats in this Starbucks are at the back; the ones in the middle are drafty, the armchairs at the front cold. Unfortunately at 7pm/7.30pm the staff come round and chuck you out of your seat at the back and make you all sit near the front. It's 'for cleaning'. Does any other Starbucks behave like this?

Oh and they've emptied the shop early before so they can have a staff meeting. Not been turned out onto the pavement earlier than advertised elsewhere either.

Last but not least, it has mice. I saw one. Again. It isn't surprising really. Near the front, just before the counter, is an unappealing looking space enclosed on 3 sides by whitewashed wooden partitions. No idea why, except it was occupied on this occasion by 3 big black binliners full of overflowing rubbish. Just a few feet away is a display unit adjacent to another, adjacent to a shelving unit against the wall. Nice little space behind each for mousy and his friends to scamper about in.

This is all standard for this branch, every time I'm there the toilet's filthy and we're ordered away from the back.

I use 2 other branches of Starbucks regularly, and I've visited many others. I like Starbucks. The only 2 I could say anything negative about are this one and, oddly enough, the Pembridge Road one round the corner (but I've only been there once). Same management?
