Proving that location is everything I caught the notion that a wee cofi fee was needed before my 3 stop epic tube ride.

I decided to ignore the allure of Star bucks and subliminal messaging of Neros to give my money to a wee local cafe. I find one right next to the entrance of the earls court tube. Result.

I push the door. Stuck!. Had I not seen a woman sitting inside I'd have presumed it was closed as it was dark inside

I persevere and take the door off its hinges. I entered to be greeted by two stick insects with faces that would have sent a funeral up a side street. I smiled at them as I approached the counter but received nothing in return. I ordered a large cap - looked at their faces again and requested a double shot. I noted the tips saucer on the counter top. Empty.

As I wait I look around. Empty fridges. A boards not put out and badly written. Place treated as a place of the owner and not the customer. £2 or whatever it was she asked and I am greeted by an arm outstretched while Victoria pouty Boredom looked on behing her. I note the classy diamond encrusted silver fingernails and then the penny drops. Super model celeb by night. Tatty cafe shop assistant by day. Super modelling just doesn't pay what it once did.

I get my coffee, tackle the door still off its hinges as some poor other sods walk in. I taste a big long awaited slurp of my coffee and I am awake!! Job done. Well its not often you get the chance to drink something resembling strained creosote in the morning. I just can't wait to go back.
