Cafe Toulous

I haven’t written a negative review in years but I cannot hold in the awful experience I had at Tolouse. I ordered the Shakshuka & I was brought a bowl of tomato with 2 fried eggs on top-anyone who knows what Shakshuka is will be horrified! It’s like ordering poached eggs & received scrambled & then being told what’s the difference! We sent it back & told them we don’t want another one 3 times but eventually we were brought another one. I thought that’s kind of them, but they had the cheek to add it to the bill! I was too embarrassed to query it but can’t forget about it, hence am writing this review. We also ordered a side of halloumi to go with the meal which arrived near the end of the meal, and a takeaway coffee which arrived in a proper glass instead with a rude comment from the manager. It was the worst eating out experiences I have had all year.

Really nice staff, always a cheery greeting and why not when you are serving great food in a lovely setting, i should think anyone who does not like this place has lost the will to live. GO !!!

Change of staff, change of menu, change of everything! Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We went to Cafe Toulouse to have our brunch in lovely Hampstead Garden Suburb. We finished our meal, I went to the counter when the waiter made a loud comment about me as a lady paying the bill in an arrogant manner and a lough. This left us both very(!) disappointed with my boyfriend. You do not make such a comment in today's equal world, especially not with your customer! We returned to make a complaint. The Owner who kept saying they had been there for 20 years & everyone else loved them(?) refused to make any compensation let it be my money or my tip at least. We will NEVER go back there!

Good food, reasonably priced, served quickly; especially popular when the sun shines!
