Austins

We went to Austin's - a tiny place on Richmond Green that was, according to our guide - a coffee house owend by David Austin had it in 1720! while on a site-seeing trip to Richmond and the River Thames there. It was a warm Saturday morning and place was becoming busy with what looked like regulars as they all seemed to know the staff. We ordered two organic full English breakfasts, a latte and a cappuccino. Wow - the best English breakfast I have ever had - plenty of it and cooked from fresh. OK we had to wait 15 minutes but it was well worth it. The coffees were very good also and I checked and the coffee and the milk were all organic too and perfect temperature. Usually I get indigestion from that sort of food but not this time. The girl who served us was lovely too - very smiley and helpful even though she was obviously learning English. It apparently always packed (it was fairly busy on this day) but we would risk the walk again - dont think I can ever eat another English (or Amercian) breakfast again without thinking of Austins!!
