I used this cake shop several times and reading the reviews here, make me think what has happened since I last visited, it seems like the standard has dropped from reading the comments and everyone is complaining about poor customer services, which is a must and most important aspect of any business to survive.
Yes the cakes are over priced but, I think your paying not for the ingredients but the artistry, labour that goes into making the cakes and the many staff members they have.
Managers and owner must take the criticism on board and address them, if not they will find it hard to get new customers through the door and old will venture else where, that would be a shame if they went somewhere else.
You need a tablet in the store so the customer can browse through with prices shown, I mean if the person behind the counter does not know the prices of the model cake in the window, then there is a problem with training staff.
You go to the restaurant and if you don't know something on the menu, they would explain it to you, should it not be the same in the cake shop.

The slice of chocolate cake thatmhad already had previous pieces taken fromit was very nic..truly scrumptious even..light moist cake and a nice sweet type of icing/buttercream filling and frosted outer edge.
The shop isn't in a great position so there is probably a low footflow and number of customers.
The shop itself when you enter is very dated..yes that can add to a charm hoevert the front display cabinet feels overcrowded and examples of character cakes sit on the top.
I am hoping they have a really nice way to select your cake and create it but tr server tells me they don't , gives. me a card and says it's all on the facebook page..
Cakes are about feeling good, treating yourself andyou long to be welcomed but the male served, though in his thirties maybe, talks like Kevin the grumpy teenager. Iaskef if they had jobs and what the roles were. He replied 'yes we have many jobs available. Just depebfd what you can do".truly inspirational
9/10 the cakes, 5/1

I visited the shop to enquire about a 21st birthday cake for my daughter. I noticed whilst waiting that the ‘advisor’ was quite impatient which was slightly concerning. When I made my enquiries I was hurriedly directed to their Facebook page, handed a leaflet and a blank stare (It might be worth investing in an in-store tablet for customers to browse if they make the effort to visit).
Not to be deterred, I asked for the price of one of the cakes on display as a guide. The lady couldn’t provide this and unconvincingly made up a price.
I left dissatisfied and disappointed. I provided feedback on their Facebook page which was balanced and unemotional. The response I received offered no apology but matched the rudeness I received in the shop.
I would suggest the store owners invest in customer service training for all members of staff, including management, as based on many reviews, this is clearly an area that requires significant improvement.

Makes amazing-tasting as well as amazing-looking speciality cakes, to order and off-the-shelf. Bit pricey but we're talking artistry here.

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have written to the shop twice over the last 10 days but received no explanation for the appalling way my son was treated when he called (with the invoice number) to collect cup cakes I ordered and paid for, for his birthday. The experience has left us feeling humiliated and angry. I do not understand how they stay in business. Dreadful customer service and mediocre and over priced cakes.

Points for improvement: reply to feedback and issues raised; don't treat customers aggressively and dismissively; make better cakes.

I placed on order for a cake on Thursday election day.
Even though my party has disappointed me, Brixton Bake shop did not!!. What Brixton Cake Shop does, was to uplift my spirit with their amazing and friendly services.

I am very much appreciate the working attitude and cleanliness of the shops. Pleaze.......I have to spell it with Z, because there is nothing else going to stand in the way of the progress of this business once they continue with the service they are giving.

Just keep it amazing....we're also amaze :)

I have used this shop for 4 years & the customer service has always been poor but as the cakes have been tasty i could overlook the bad service. After leaving a 50% deposit for my birthday cake I went to collect to it a few days later. As I was in a hurry I forgot my receipt and phone at home (my bad) only to be told NO RECEIPT NO CAKE!! The assistant made no effort to help me or take my details 2 find my cake. I left with no cake & in tears. I called the next day 2 speak 2 the manager but got the owner Chris? who said he would investigate & get the manager to call me back 8 days NO CALL

Initial ideas, pictures & 50% deposit given 3 weeks prior to my birthday.I arrived on the day to pick up my cake at the specific time to find out that it was not ready for another 4 hours! Made my way home and returned at 5pm.
When I was ready to cut the cake I noticed that the inside was nothing like the picture given with an unmistakable spelling of "23rh" on the cake VERY DISAPPOINTING !!!! Called back Monday to be told that I could not have a refund and was my choice to not serve the cake. Manager refused to speak to me and denied he was in the shop.

Cake went mouldy 3 days later.
