They do the best sandwiches in town all made with fresh ingredients and really reasonably priced!

I dont know what the other people are talking about when they say the manager is rude she's absolutely lovely maybe your rude yourself.

Defiantly worth a visit!!!

Brown sugar's food is OK but the staff and manager a disgrace and should not be
serving the general public she urgently needs Management and customer service training.
If you want smiling helpful service don't go there.
M & S is just across the road together with several sandwich bars and deli's
in Rickmansworth high street.

I would like to comment firstly on the above statement (Please be constructive, no ranting!) and direct that at a previous commenter.

Brown sugar Deli in Rickmansworth is a warm little italian deli in the heart of the town center. It is often very busy due to its popularity with residents. Recently taken over by a lovely young lady who is happy to help with a team of endearing staff!

They have an excellent menu and will help you with any sandwich alterations needed!

An experience well worth having!

I have used Brown Sugar Deli for the past 3 years and the girls who work there are absolutely fabulous, they are all very friendly and helpful and whenever i have gone there my experience has always been memorable.

They do the most amazing sandwiches and I would thoroughly recommend you go there and try them out, they now have tables which you can sit at read your paper and have a coffee, it has a very good ambience and warm feeling about the place.

I dont live in the area so dont go there on a regular basis but if I did I would go there every lunchtime.

Since Brown Sugar has changed hands the overall service has declined markedly.

The new owner is surly, rude and not suited to a customer service industry.

Recently, I was travelling up to London to watch the cricket. I wanted to buy some olives and did not think this would be a problem as it was 9am (the advertised opening hour). The owner was just turning up and, upon seeing me, her opening gambit , without any greeting, was "you will have to wait until I've opened everything up". When I asked if I could just get a few olives in a tub as I was in a hurry, she huffed and puffed, told me to wait and closed the door again.

I was not asking for any special favours - it was past 9am. I wouldn't have minded too much if she was friendly and polite, but she gave me the impression that I was doing her a favour by visiting her deli.

I will never use her shop again. It was far better under the previous owner, who incidentally runs a deli just down the road in Chorleywood. It is worth the extra journey, just for a friendly welcome.

It is a real shame because Rickmansworth is crying out for good quality, independent shops and restaurants. Brown Sugar should be a pleasure, but some people are just not suited to customer service roles.

Unhappy resident - Rickmansworth.
