 Great quirky local shop with a variety of organic and unusual articles of food and drink, spices, fresh and cured meats, cheeses, chocolates, wines, you name it. Lovely atmosphere - owner Abdul and one of his right hand people, Miranda, are community pillars. You can buy coffee and freshly squeezed juice, various freshly baked breads (really good quality and baked thru the day) and pastry both sweet and savory. Open really early and really late, were open on Xmas and Boxing day and even the New Year's day! Will also get you a product you want if not there. Proof of quality is that it competes really well with the newly open Tesco Metro which is literally next door. The only small criticism is that veg and fruit have on occasion not been fresh, but that was exchanged with a smile and apologies with no quibble what so ever. Local young musicians get a chance to entertain in front of the shop in the summer, and people gather around chatting. They also run the shop diagonally across the road - Organic and Natural which is as brilliant and has a cafe with a garden. These two shops and the people that run them and who gather around them make this area cosy and homey and I will think twice before moving. |
